About this bed and breakfast
Located in the friendly Cleveland Heights neighborhood of Oakland, this private studio cottage is a short walk to Lake Merritt, great restaurants, shops, and easy transportation into San Francisco. It comfortably suits 1–2 guests, with a maximum of 3 — the space is intentionally cozy, so if you're a larger group, please double check the layout works for you before booking.
The cottage sits in a private green oasis, surrounded by fruit trees and a landscaped lawn. Inside you'll find a plush queen mattress, a fully-equipped kitchen with stainless steel pots and pans, a large closet, and a clean bathroom with a spacious shower. High-speed wifi and Fire TV (Netflix, Prime, Hulu — with your own login) are included. The space is light and airy with reliable heat and A/C. We leave 24 hours between guests for enhanced cleaning.
The neighborhood is quiet and walkable, yet close to everything Oakland and the Bay Area offer — Lake Merritt's 5K perimeter path, Grand Lake's restaurants and cafés, Jack London Square, Downtown, and Chinatown. A short bus or BART ride reaches Temescal and Berkeley, and the express TransBay bus to San Francisco is five minutes away.
Good to know before booking:
- Guests must be 25 or older.
- There is a $500 security deposit, refunded after your stay.
- The walkway from the sidewalk to the gate has several steps, some without a handrail, and there are no grab bars in the shower — worth noting if anyone in your group has mobility needs.
- Washer and dryer are available for guests staying 30+ days.

This studio is perfect for short or longer stays. It was very clean, super comfortable, and close to everything I needed, including the bus line. There is not much space for dry food, but it all worked out. I would definitely recommend this space and would stay there again anytime. There was also great communication between the host and myself.

The property is exactly as described. It’s a nice and safe area near the lake that is conveniently located with many things in walking distance. The property has all the necessity amenities, kitchen is well stocked, the bed is a little soft for my personal tastes but still extremely comfy, and the shower is great. Check in was easy and the property owner was very responsive.
