It was next to water canal so the view from the balcony (or if you stood by window) was beautiful. But the balcony had all day sun and no umbrella and was completely unusable. The kitchen and bathroom were renovated.
Checkin was a challenge. Owner had instructed the keys would be in a lockbox. But there were no keys. We messaged the owner and didn’t receive a reply. We then contacted booking.com and they immediately assisted us and after several tries managed to contact the owner. It took 45 minutes for us to wait in 30 degree direct sun to finally get the keys. Then there was no elevator and we had to carry our luggage to 3rd floor (48 steps). Furthermore, there was no AC in the apartment and only one small fan. Also there was a terrible sewage smell coming from the bathroom. The smell was so strong that the entire apartment was smelling. We kept the bathroom door shut but in the morning we couldn’t go in there because of horribly strong sewage smell. We then figured the smell was coming from shower drain. Also the towels in the bathroom were really old and didn’t look clean. There was no hair dryer and iron. I messaged the owner and asked and he brought one for us which was nice. There was no proper closet to hang clothes. Only an old wardrobe half filled with junk (extra blanket and vacuum etc) so no room left to hang clothes. Also this strong perfume air freshener smell in the closet. The apartment only provided bare minimum with no effort to make the guests feel comfortable. The apartment was far from everything and definitely needed a car.
