We couldn’t have been happier with our stay here. We have had self-catering accommodations around the world over the years and this one was probably the best we have ever booked. The property was clean, comfortable and convenient. Everything has been thoughtfully updated but retains many of its original features that give it plenty of authentic charm. We were literally steps away from a wide variety of grocery stores, pubs, shops and restaurants. The guestbook was full of helpful how to information. We also appreciated that the kitchen was well equipped enough to actually prepare a full meal. Kim was always available if we had a question and she gave us several great tips for nearby places to visit. Everything was in working order and there was always plenty of hot water. Overall, the property felt like comfortable, lived-in home and not just a lodging.
The only issue we had, and it was really a minor one, was a couple of times when it was busy in town and we had trouble finding a parking spot nearby. It did help us quickly learn the neighborhood and find places to park that weren’t too far away.

Stairs are steep but that can’t be helped (we aren’t use to stairs)

The Merriman cottage was beautifully decorated and clean. It is in the best location for walking around high street.
