Fabulous accommodation, felt like staying in a luxurious homely cottage, my only regret was the weather was too hot to have the woodburner going, as that would have been amazing. Michelle the host was great, and was only a phone call away if we needed anything ( we didn't as there was a very thoughtful guide to the cottage provided which had all kinds of useful information in such as how to use the oven, where to find a hairdrier, and where the nearest restaurant etc). All our expectations were met, with very comfortable beds, pristine white fluffy bath towels, and a welcome tray with tea, coffee and breakfast items, with a bottle of milk in the fridge. It was a great base for exploring nearby York, we really liked the areas to sit in the enclosed garden, and there was a beautiful view from the dining table area of the field opposite which had cows in when we arrived. Able to park 1 car on the driveway inside the gates, with more parking on the roadside if needed.
I feel there really isn't anything I didn't like of Tanyard cottage. I would stay again. The only thing I can think of is that if you were staying for a week and planning on doing a lot of cooking then you would not be able to fit a "big shop" in the fridge as it is quite compact, it is a small fridge with a freezer compartment. The kitchen is well appointed with plenty of pot/pans etc, for anyone wishing to cook a meal there.

The cottage is well equipped, and beautifully and thoughtfully decorated and arranged. Michelle was fantastic - friendly, helpful and welcoming. We loved having the outdoor seating area and the enclosed area for our dog. Whiskey is beautifully peaceful and we enjoyed watching the wildlife in the field whilst we ate.

Zeer comfortabele cottage, van alle gemakken voorzien, met een fijn terras. Michelle is een zeer gastvrije gastvrouw.
