Lovely house. Great amenities. Plenty of space. Enjoyed using the pool. Easy access to Oxford and local pubs and nearby walks. Perfect for a family 50th birthday celebration.

It was large enough for our group
We experienced some issues during our stay, as follows:
My aunt had an accident getting out of the pool on the first day as the ladder came apart and tipped her backwards. She is 80 and was too frightened to go back in the pool (which was main reason for choosing red copse). She scraped her leg causing it to bleed and has some bruising, and has pulled muscles in her shoulders trying to cling to the ladder while we reached her (she had one foot stuck up on the side of the pool as she had almost been out before she was tipped backwards). It could have been so much worse, but was upsetting for her and for us. The ladder, and the fact that the pool toilet is out of order (meaning wet kids trailing water through the house from their costumes when they needed a wee) meant it was quite a job keeping the older guests safe (l had to remain on vigilant slippery floor duty in the house) and really spoiled the fun element we had been looking forward to.
In addition, the drainage in the master suite isn't working properly (everything takes ages to drain and risks overflowing). This is even worse in the loft bathroom which also is also smelling badly of drains.
The projector doesn't work (which was a disappointment to the teens).
The air hockey table wouldn't switch on (or at least we couldn't make it work).
Some of the climbing wall hand holds are loose, which meant our youngest guest was too anxious to use it.
All in all, although we enjoyed being together and it was a good big house to share, the lack of working/ inaccessible/damaged amenities meant that the things that had attracted us to make the booking were not able to be enjoyed (either at all, or not by all guests). It was these advertised extras that made us choose Red Copse over alternative accommodation which might otherwise have been more suitable/less expensive.
I think it needs to be explained to prospective guests beforehand that the pool table etc.
