We just spent one unforgettable week at Villa Kate in Poljica-Brig, near Zadar—and it was hands-down one of the best vacation experiences we’ve ever had. The open-plan living/dining/kitchen area is perfect for groups and families—bright, airy, and thoughtfully arranged with all kitchen essentials. We cooked, lounged, and relaxed here easily and felt instantly at home. Bedrooms are quiet, well-air-conditioned, and impeccably clean throughout our stay. The private heated pool (50 m²) was an absolute highlight—warm, pristine, and inviting morning and evening. The pool terrace, loungers, outdoor shower, and summer kitchen/BBQ made it feel like our own little resort. The rooftop terrace offered stunning rural views—ideal for sipping morning coffee or evening drinks under the sky. The expansive fenced grounds include an orchard, lawn, and sports court (tennis, mini-football, table-tennis, volleyball) and a children’s playground. It’s tranquil, family-friendly, and feels truly private. The kitchen came fully equipped—dishwasher, oven, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, and ALL cookware/dinnerware needed for group meals. The bathrooms were stocked with towels, toiletries, hair dryers—nothing was missing. Plus, high-speed Wi-Fi, satellite TV, laundry and air-conditioning throughout—it’s built for comfort in any season. Everything worked flawlessly and was spotlessly clean. Hosts were exceptional—warm, responsive, professional. From sending us arrival instructions to providing local recommendations, arranging a last-minute extension, and greeting us with a wonderful welcome and goodbye gifts (fresh produce and more)—they went above and beyond. Our dogs were welcomed as one of their own. They clearly care about guest experience, which is reflected in their stellar booking reviews (9.7–9.8 across staff, facilities, comfort, cleanliness).

The villa is a 15 minute drive to the centre of Zadar and the same to the small town of Nin (Uber also readily available if you’re without a hire car). The location itself is very quiet, but, there are plenty of small supermarkets close by for provisions, and it feels safe at all times. The hosts were excellent. Two ladies greeted us and gave us lots of information prior to arrival, they were just genuinely nice people, happy to help! There were all the usual things you’d like to see in a villa as well as fresh meat and cheese for our arrival. Villa Kate was very clean, plenty big enough for 4 couples, decent size pool and a great outdoor turf area for padel or tennis etc. We would absolutely stay again, and would recommend to anyone. To my mind, Croatia (and Zadar in particular) is still a bit of a hidden gem when compared to the usual Spanish and Portuguese locations. Good value, nice people and some amazing scenery.

There was still a little bit of work to be done on the sports area outside, though it was no concern to us. Still fully useable.
