Staff - Ridvan absolutely made our trip! What a great guy. Thanks to Ridvan, we had the best trip in Mardin. We got an authentic experience and couldn’t thank him enough for his warm hospitality.
Views - absolutely stunning views from the room over the plains and of the old city of Mardin.
Bed - beds were comfortable and room had aircon.
Wifi - I saw comments about it not reaching the room but this wasn’t the case for us.. it all worked fine in the room & on the shared terrace.
Authentic - we feel we got a real representation of life in the old city of Mardin. It’s a drive away from the new city so bare that in mind if you’re aiming to visit both. Local buses (Dolmus) link the two so you can visit both. If you are looking for a 5* polished stay then this isn’t the place for you but if you’re after a more rustic and authentic stay then this fits that.
Just a watch out that there are some steep steps to access the property walking up from the main section of the old city as the property is located in the hillside. This wasn’t a problem for us and makes for some of the best views but just wanted to point out as could be an issue for some people.

Some of the reviews are unnecessarily harsh, especially the complaints about the street, the entrance and the stairs. Personally, I liked that this small pension feels much more authentic than some of the more polished museum like hotels in Mardin. Yes, you have to walk up a steep flight of stairs to get there, but that is pretty much the whole point of the town, the views and the terraced houses. The stairs really aren’t that bad, and there are plenty of hotels higher up. The main street is only about three minutes away, and the owner can pick up heavy luggage by car if you don’t want to carry it. From what I saw, the rooms weren’t especially humid either, at least not beyond what you would normally expect in a traditional stone house in Mardin in summer. The Wi-Fi doesn’t reach the rooms, which is worth knowing. But do you really need to spend the evening in bed watching Netflix?

ホストのRıdvan氏が非常に親切で、献身的。アーリーチェックインに快く対応してくれただけでなく、道を間違えてしまった私たちが宿に無事に辿り着けるよう、公共交通機関と電話で交渉してくれたり、山の麓まで車で迎えに来たりしてくれた。チェックイン後も無料でティータイムをセッティングしてくれるなど、本当に良い意味で宿泊価格と不釣り合いなホスピタリティがあった。
ロケーションも素晴らしく、主要なスポットには大体徒歩10分以内でリーチでき、すぐ裏には小さな売店もある。眺望も周辺の展望台以上に良く、屋上からは旧市街とシリアに続く大平野を一望できた。
部屋は建物相応に年季が入っており、ドアの建付けが悪かったりもしたが、この価格帯のホテルであれば至って普通のレベルであった。清潔感もあり、エアコンや冷蔵庫もきちんと動くので、設備で困ったことも全くない。

強いて言うなら、室内は電波が悪く、wifiも途切れ途切れになってしまうこと。テラスに出たり、窓際に行ったりすれば解決する。
