If you are looking for a place in El Salvador without actually feeling you're in El Salvador, look no further. The lodge grounds are gated and well protected, with walls all around and what seems to be a well-armed police unit living on site. An army of staff - cooks, cleaners, guides - will be at your beck and call and you will feel a world away from the rest of the country's hustle and bustle. Just relax and dip your feet in one of the three pools; indulge in decently-priced delicious meals from the restaurant; go on a tour (and feed spider monkeys in a nearby reserve despite the signs that tell you not to!); or just chill in your own spacious luxury accommodation, set in the midst of a cocoa and coconut grove.
The lodge seems to be designed as a secluded getaway, possibly because it caters for the wealthy. Easiest access is by boat and, surprisingly, by plane, as it is adjacent to a well maintained grass airstrip. If you arrive by car, however, be prepared for a rough 20-30 minutes on unsealed roads, multiple checkpoints with ID control and, to be honest, slightly oppressive security and isolation from even the closest village.

The place is just wonderful.
I had a beautiful, big and clean house in a beautiful forest with fireflies at night. The tours (especially to the monkeys) were great. It was the only place in El Salvador where I could see some wildlife.
The people were super friendly and helpful in advance (I was bothering them with a lot of questions before, because I came without a car and they solved everything for me). They even gave me an upgrade to a house with a kitchen, which was super helpful and nice.
The restaurant closes at 6. That means if you don't have a car or cook for yourself you have to eat dinner at 5 or eat it cold later.
It would be great if the restaurant opens a couple of hours longer so you can enjoy dinner in the restaurant.

- everything closes super early and opens late: no breakfast before 8am, last order for dinner at 4:30!!
- the bar wasn't open and it seemed it hadn't opened in a while. On their website they say you could watch a game there and everything but there's nothing.
- the pool area is not great. no comfy chairs, not much space for lying directly at the pool. All 3 basins are basically the same and have very warm water.
- the accomodation is far away from the pool area and the restaurant (10 min(!) walk)
- so after all this place is way too expensive
$$$$
