The location and the value. Chung King Mansions has perhaps 50 or more small guesthouses, very much two-star backpacker/budget style, spread over several floors of five high-rise towers. This was the best of several which I have used over 40 years. The room was small, but had all of the features which I needed. There is a hot/cold water urn in the foyer, and a kitchen with a microwave. The airconditioning was effective; the shower water was hot. The staff are on 24/7 whatsapp availability. I was able to leave my case at the reception counter after checking out, to be collected that evening. The main entry is left of frame in my photo, signed Chung King, and in line with the pedestrian crossing. Tower E is at the rear, and has shorter queues than tower A. On lift serves even floors; the other serves odd floors.
The five towers have only two lifts each, always with long queues.
The towers are opposite Tsim Sha Tsui MTR exit E, which has only a 48-step stairway.

It was clean, had a working TV and AC.
Not much to complain about for the price. Bed is kinda hard though. Not my taste

Cheaper than other options
Location is in the center, but the area around it is horrible. To get to the room, you don’t feel safe at all to walk in that area!! Dirty everywhere around. Super tiny room I couldn’t even turn around nor open my suitcase. Bathroom is extremely tiny, you shower sitting on a toilet.
