Location was excellent, very close to the sea, nice restaurants, Achill is so beautiful, unspoiled .
The shower in the main bathroom was not good , had to hand hold it in the bath , no shower door , , floor in bathroom very slippery.
Double beds not comfortable,
The laundry left from previous occupiers in black bag in the hall , not collected during our stay .

The location of the property is ideal; with parking. Very clean (except see below re ensuite). Kitchen seemed well equipped; though we only used it for breakfast. 4 bedrooms; two double and two single bed rooms. Linen and towels supplied. Karen our contact on the Island was very helpful. Key code box worked perfectly. Quiet area. Within walking distance of Amethyst Pub, Achill Cliff House hotel, Beehive Cafe; and Keel beach.
There was really only one shower (in ensuite which badly needs remodelling; as the grout is dirty). So 3 of us (friends up hiking in Achill for 4 days) had to use the ensuite in turn; the tray flooded the first night BUT it was fixed immediately the next day; thanks to Karen. There is no shower door/curtain in the bathroom and the shower is not connected to the wall there so it's really bath only..... makes no sense.; as there is a shower head attached to taps..... A clothes line would also have been handy; though not essential (we had our own towels for swimming so it would have been handy to dry them outside).

Lage war super. Boden, Bettwäsche sauber.
Küchenoberfläche klebrig und Geschirr haben wir vorab einmal gespült. Herd, Töpfe und Pfannen z.t. nicht zu gebrauchen. Nur eine Dusche die gut funktioniert. Zu wenig Müllbeutel, keine Trennung möglich.

Great location in Keel
Utensils were filthy.
Wheelie bin was overflowing and rubbish being blown around the garden.
Chimney had not been swept, so could not have a cosy fire..
Radiator in sitting room broken..
Curtains in bedroom had no blackout quality so woken up each morning before 6am by the brightness..
Sofas uncomfortable as base on each were dipped and had short back..
Also when I booked, no mention was made if "extra charges"... Agent demanded €40.00 on top of all in price or we would lose the booking..
Would not use Sykes Cottages again!!!
