The host was very nice and explained everything very well. The room and restrooms were very clean and we had plenty of space in the bedroom. The kitty was also very friendly!
We were overall happy with our stay! The water closet was small, but it did not create any problems for us.

We liked everything. The owner was very nice. There is in the room a guide in English and Japanese about Setoda. It was a nice stop in our bike trip.
The toilets and showers are shared. But we knew this beforehand.

Very friendly owner who speaks a good amount of English. He obviously put a lot of care into making sure tourists on the Shimanami enjoy their stays here — the room included a pamphlet with a very in-depth explanation of all of the local attractions and their histories, local restaurants, drinks, etc., including a map with all stores selling lemon-products. I visited one of the lemon cake stores and the tuna speciality store labeled, both of which were very yummy.
The house is very charming as well, apparently used to belong to the owner’s grandmother. Room is spacious enough for what you need, with a very welcome AC in these hot days. Very funny signs in the bathroom, which is understandably smaller due to its history. Entry stairs are a little steep and would probably be difficult for someone with a suitcase, but I presume most visitors are biking anyways.
