Great location to explore the local area on foot from the door. The house was spacious and very well equipped - the photos and description don’t do it justice! There was everything needed to prepare meals, play games round the table, relax in front of a fire after a long walk and hunker down in a comfortable bed at the end of the day. We knew the layout of bedrooms and bathrooms from the description and pictures and for the four of us (siblings) it was perfect and the bedrooms were very spacious but still cozy. We loved the big dining table and fancy stove top! There was plenty of room to park 2 cars directly outside the house and loads more room opposite to park more if needed. A great mix of character and modern touches, we were really pleased with our booking. Also a lovely touch of the welcome hamper! Thank you!
We loved the property but if we had to pick something to improve it would probably be to give the fauna a little prune at the front of the house to stop it tapping the window in the wind. Added to the autumnal atmosphere though! And update the description on Booking to highlight all the facilities, although it was a nice surprise to find how good it was when we arrived!

Plenty of room for a family get together, we had 6 adults and 2 children for a couple of the days. Good sized bedrooms. Enclosed garden for pets. Right in the centre of the village, 2-3 minute walk from the pub/church/NT property and the Stone Circles. WiFi available. Very high quality white goods in kitchen. Seating for 8 around the table.
Would have benefited from a downstairs toilet, although 2 were available upstairs.

Location, lovely decor, comfy beds
Design of bathrooms was very basic. Only one overhead shower in the en-suite, none in main bathroom. Not sufficient in a property marketed for 8 people. No shower gel or toiletries provided. While the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms were clean, the downstairs was not as well maintained/serviced. There were dozens of dead flies in the living rooms and some thick cobwebs around the furniture. Teabags hadn’t been restocked.
