Cold villa near Herculaneum site

Great location and very spacious, kitchen with washing machine, villa in beautiful grounds

Mouldy, not like the pictures on the listing

We liked the location and that was one of the reasons we picked this (including all the good reviews)

It does not fit the pictures and description. The pictures show several bedrooms and different beds, there was only one bed in the property even though the description states 3 beds. The sofa bed was in the entrance so there was no privacy. We noticed a weird smell as soon as we came in, I found black mould all over the walls, we were staying there with two children and my son is very allergic to mould. I called booking.com to report this right away but as it was too late we had to stay there the night. I rebooked another place for the rest of our stay as mould is very toxic and unsafe. The host should not be allowed to rent this place out in this condition. I spoke with the host too and she was very dismissive and said that the air is purified. There is no pure air with black mould around. I would not recommend.

A great base for this solo traveller on the Bay of Naples.

The apartment is on the top floor of a super old characterful building built in 1911, with red carpet and elegant furnishings up the wooden staircase. The large main room has shuttered balcony windows open onto a slightly overgrown green space and garden with mature trees, including (in February) fruiting oranges. Apart from a party downstairs on Sat night, my stay was wonderfully peaceful with the only real noise being birdsong! As a caffeine addict, I was pleased to find that a tin of good Italian coffee and a percolator were provided in the small kitchen. The host, Francesca, was very attentive and kindly booked a taxi for me when a train strike forced a change to my travel plans. The apartment was very good value for money (even considering it was the off-season when I stayed). It is 5 mins from the station and I found it a great base for my week exploring the Roman sites of the Bay of Naples

The bed could perhaps be more comfortable and British couples who are used to two pillows each might want to mention that. As I was travelling solo it was no problem. If you are of larger proportions you may find it a squeeze to get into the shower cubicle.

- excellent location: walking distance to Helkulaneum archeologic site, walking distance to the train station - trans to Naples, Pompeii, buses for Vesuvio - an old, beautiful mansion - although it needs refreshment

- small shower - in general, the place needs refreshment, but thanks to such a great location, it was still ok - we had ants in the bathroom...
