We stayed at Southways with family over the Christmas week so it was a full house.
The house was immaculately clean, warm and comfortable for a family of 6. It was beautifully decorated and furnished. Comfy beds, high pressure showers, quality furnishings.
We didn’t use the garden much but it was lovely to look out on and the children enjoyed watching the birds at the feeders.
Sue was a great host, excellent communication and quickly responded to any extra requests without being intrusive. She even lent me extra fairy lights to put up as Christmas decs and lent me her own hairdryer!
A 5* Host and a 5* Home from home.

We stayed in the cottage for two nights using it as a halfway point when visiting relatives in Scotland with our grandchildren. The cottage was exceptional in terms of cleanliness, ease of use and comfort. Clearly a lot of thought had gone into every aspect. Beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything you need for self-catering, and the lounge with its smart tv was very relaxing. The weather wasn’t great while we were there but the cottage was was warm and a comfy home from home. The garden looked inviting too. Directions from the M6 (a few minutes away) and briefing notes from Sue, the owner, were clear and concise so really all we had to do was roll up and enjoy. There are plenty of places nearby for eating and it’s very handy for the North Lakes and Carlisle. All in all, we thought the cottage was lovely and it’s a no brainer to give it 5 stars.
There was nothing to dislike. It was ideal.
