Obwohl wir "Schottisches" Wetter genießen durften, war unser Aufenthalt etwas ganz Besonderes. Eine derart herzliche Gastfreundschaft hatten wir bisher noch nie erlebt, Stephen und Jackie helfen zu jeder Tageszeit und sind über Telefon oder WhatsApp immer zu erreichen. Kompetent wurden Tips für Restaurants und Sehenswürdigkeiten gegeben und der Eindruck vermittelt, man wäre bei guten Freunden zu Besuch. Über die qualitativ hochwertige Ausstattung haben schon alle anderen Besucher genug geschrieben, dem ist nichts hinzuzufügen. Im Wohnzimmer mit direktem Blick auf's Meer und auch in beiden Schlafzimmern waren wirklich große Flatscreen TVs mit Zugang zu den populären Streamingportalen an der Wand angebracht. Längeres Parken ist auch kostenlos, wenn man den Trick kennt: Einfach westlich in Richtung Wemyss Bay einhundert Meter aus der Einbahnstraße herausfahren und das Auto hinter (!) dem Obelisk an der Meerseite der Straße abstellen, wo keine gelbe Doppel-Linie aufgemalt ist. Werden wir wiederkommen? Wir werden wiederkommen!
Schlichtweg: das Wetter. Gilt schon für Südengland "Vier Jahreszeiten an einem Tag" so gilt für Schottland erst recht "Vier Jahreszeiten in einer Stunde". Und der Ausdruck "It's raining cats and dogs" wurde mit Sicherheit in den Highlands erfunden . . .
