We originally booked Serene Villa 38 but were upgraded to the main Serene Villa, which was a very nice surprise.
The room was beautiful and comfortable with a lovely classic-style design.
Amazing balcony with a beautiful view overlooking the mountainous Kandy area.
The pool area is also very scenic with a great view and relaxing atmosphere.
There were no other guests during our stay so there was no breakfast buffet, but the staff brought us plenty of food with a nice variety of options and listened to our preferences.
Staff was very nice, attentive and accommodating throughout our stay.
The lift was undergoing maintenance at one point, which would have been difficult as we were on the fourth floor and my mother has arthritis, but they delayed the maintenance and allowed us to use it. Really appreciated them accommodating us like that.
Room facilities were good overall.
The property itself is very peaceful and relaxing.
They accept cards before your stay, which was vital for me coming from Pakistan, as I have to show paid receipts of accommodation at the airport.
We stayed for three days and had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Location is quite isolated and on a slope, with not much to do within walking distance.
You will need a car or another form of transport to get around the main areas of Kandy.
Hot water takes several minutes to arrive, so initially we thought there wasn't any. We had to ask the staff and learned that you need to leave the water running for quite a while before it becomes hot.
There was also no breakfast buffet because we were the only guests, although the staff did compensate well by bringing us plenty of food directly.

Perfect location, room has good size and amenities are worthy. Food for breakfast is good and also location is super near of the city. Only 5 min by tuc-tuc.

It had a nice breeze from the balcony, was clean, and had comfortable pillows
The Internet didn’t work at all after 10 PM. When I went to the front desk for help the kid who was working there was sleeping in a room. It took the guard 10 minutes to wake him up and the kid didn’t he speak a lick of English nor did he know anything about the internet. As a result I could book hotels or trains for the next day. Also, the shower takes about 10 minutes to get hot and the hotel doesn’t have a restaurant or bar, you must go to their sister hotel up the beach for that. This also made the hotel feel very empty
