The staff we interacted with on the second day of our stay was friendly and welcoming. The hotel itself was clean and well-maintained.
The room was small, with no partition between the bathroom and toilet, which made it feel cramped. The breakfast had a fancy presentation, but sadly, it didn't live up to expectations in terms of quality or basic freshness. We also noticed a lack of empathy in staff interactions on our first day, which added to the feeling of detachment. The street parking didn't feel very safe.
As for the location, Nemea is known for being part of Greece's wine region, but the city itself is struggling. Many buildings are abandoned or in disrepair, and numerous shops are permanently closed, creating a sense of neglect. The contrast between the hotel's upscale feel and the surrounding city left us feeling uneasy. It's clear that the city is facing serious challenges, and while we're disappointed as tourists, it also makes you question whether gentrification is the right answer. We hope the city can find a right path to revitalization.
