Not a 5 star hotel like in Bangkok but very good.
Definitely the best in the area. Breakfast very basic, happy to pay more for a better choice.

Good Stopover for trips to North Thailand

An unusual layout with a separate reception building, the main block with pools along the front of each wing and a restaurant in another building about 150m away (fortunately, it didn't rain whilst we stayed there). The walk to the restaurant was lovely, winding past the pool, over a bridge with circular netted enclosure above a lake which was teeming with big fish. The room was large with all the usual facilities and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful
Our only dislike was the switch gear in the room; they looked great but they were click on, click off so we couldn't tell whether they were on or off. The markings were difficult to see, resulting in us switching all the lights off or on when we just wanted to switch a small one on or off etc.
The pools were cool, since the sun didn't get on them until afternoon and it was quite breezy, so our daughter only went in once.
