Convenient location for the Thermes during my 3-week stay. Well equipped for cooking, etc. Bed linen clean. Host was mostly very good and responsive when things broke down in the apartment.
The lack of ventilation, especially in the bedroom, no proper window, just a light well and Velux so no proper through draught was possible. Very uncomfortable during the heatwave of the first 2 weeks. The conversion of the building into flats was not of the best standard: the equipment was not very good quality which led to problems e..g. the toilet flush not working correctly, the fridge leaking, blinking spotlight and cooker hood bulb failing and tripping the fuse! The Conciergerie were just looking after these flats, so were not to blame and were quick to respond and fix things. Mostly very courteous except for the last night when I experienced cigarette smoke coming into the bedroom from the owner's flat upstairs. Apparently, it was the 'straw that broke the camel's back' for Jonathan of the Conciergerie who responded to my polite request to ask the owner to be careful about the smoking by flying off the handle and being quite personally abusive to me! I believe that the problem was due to a poor quality renovation by the owner, lack of adequate insulation etc. The owner needs to be aware that the renters are often older people with respiratory problems and cigarette smoke is a pollutant which is not easily tolerated by asthmatics.
