Wonderful hostel with the best location in mpai bay
I arrived early Sunday, and the hosts greeted me with open arms and gave me tips to further travels. They were fantastically welcoming and nice
I stayed in a newly renovated private room. It had a nice balcony with an unbelievable view over the beach and ocean. The room had A/C, and it was probably the best sleep I have had in a couple of weeks.

We loved this hostel so much!! I would definitely stay here again if I ever came back. It just had such a relaxed and welcoming vibe. Toni was such a legend, treated us like friends rather than guests, sorted whatever we needed and took us on little adventures every day (free of charge!). Could really feel how much he loved the place and just wanted everyone else to love it too haha. Location was great as well - right on the beach front. Good food spots nearby. Short walk to gorgeous beach where you can swim and chill. I loved how chill the social space was as well, felt super at home there and enjoyed hanging out with all the dope people we met at seashell. Great vibes - thank you!
This was not a problem for us but people might wanna be aware that it is kinda basic (no WiFi for example) but in my opinion that’s kind of the point … it’s nice to switch off for a while and just lose yourself in the island vibe a bit. Also this was nobody’s fault but they did have quite a long black out while were there and it was difficult to cope in the heat. Toni did a great job taking care of us though and the power was back in less than 24 hours, just worth knowing that this is a thing that happens on the island.

Nice guesthouse, right on the beachfront. Good place to unplug and rewind. The guesthouse offers nice breakfast. Nice restaurants/cafes/bars nearby. Mix of local life and western expats. Lots of long stay travellers at this guesthouse which shows it’s a nice place to have a base.
Payment for water refill and no WiFi seems a bit stingy compared to everywhere else I’ve stayed in SE Asia but not a big problem. Private rooms at the top are very hot (and I also hear top bunks are) but just about able to sleep with the fan on.

Das Personal war unfassbar freundlich, hat viele Tipps gegeben.
Die Lage direkt am Strand war wirklich sehr schön!
Man ist sehr bemüht, den Gästen einen netten Aufenthalt zu bereiten u.a. Auch mit gemeinsamen Aktivitäten.
Das Zimmer war sehr einfach eingerichtet, vor den Fenstern gab es keine Glas sondern Holzelemente, die es abgedichtet haben.
Das hat es leider sehr düster gemacht.
Das Privatzimmer war im Dachgeschoss des Hauses, wo es sehr warm war.
Es gab eine Ventilator und über den Betten leider keine Moskitonetze, was aber wirklich von Vorteil gewesen wäre!
Die geteilten Badezimmer haben eine offene Dusch, weshalb der Boden sowie die Toilette nach dem duschen meist komplett nass sind.
Ich persönlich bin kein Fan davon, wenn in Aufenthaltsbereichen von Unterkünften geraucht wird (vor allem nicht Marihuana), Aber ich kann auch nicht wiedergeben, was in den Hausregeln steht.
