We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Areia. The hosts were incredibly responsive and accommodating — genuinely some of the most accommodating hosts we’ve ever stayed with — and we were very grateful for how helpful they were throughout our stay.
There were lots of thoughtful touches, including fresh bread delivered every day, which we loved. The beds were incredibly comfortable, with really lovely mattresses and pillows, and it was clear that a lot of care had gone into the interiors. Even details such as the crockery and glassware felt considered and high quality. The newly installed AC was perfect for warmer evenings.
The pool was lovely, and as a family of four we really appreciated the amount of space. We never felt on top of one another and everyone felt like they had their own area to relax in. The villa is also in an incredibly quiet, peaceful location.
There are a few restaurants in the village which we heard very good things about, although we didn’t manage to visit them ourselves. Getting into Cascais was very easy using Bolt or Uber, so we never felt remotely cut off.
The village shop has sadly now closed, but this really wasn’t an issue for us. We had groceries delivered and also visited a nearby shop recommended by Maria, which was fantastic — great wine, meat, vegetables and everything else we needed.
We would highly recommend Villa Areia to anyone wanting a peaceful base while still being within very easy reach of Cascais. We had a wonderful stay.
The only very minor point we would mention is that the layout of the upstairs bathroom is a little awkward. The positioning of the toilet means it can be quite difficult to sit comfortably if you’re taller, as there isn’t much space around it. However, there is another bathroom downstairs, so this really wasn’t a significant issue for us at all.
It certainly wouldn’t put us off staying again or recommending the villa — everything else about our stay was wonderful.

Emplacement petit village calme et logement cosy et très confortable. Idéal pour les loisirs sportifs et la plus belle plage Do Guincho. Gîtes aux petits soins . Vacances parfaites

Fijn dat het vlak bij de zee ligt en een zwembad heeft, er staan ook in de keuken allerlei zaken die je kan gebruiken. Er zijn ook zwembad handdoeken aanwezig. Het terras is fijn.
Het huis is erg vochtig en ruikt muf. Het is, ook al brand er de hele dag verwarming nauwelijks warm te krijgen. Ook de was duurde lang voordat deze droog was, door regen konden we deze helaas niet buiten laten drogen. We kwamen pas op de 2e dag in de avond erachter dat er een ontvochtiger was die we konden aanzetten en die moest dan ook elke 12r geleegd worden omdat deze vol zat met water daarna. De host had ons laten weten we in de ochtend brood bij de deur zouden krijgen, maar we hebben helaas geen enkele ochtend wat gekregen.
