About this house rental

Located in Gallatin, this attractive house for $180 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Explore the historic Hudson River Valley from this light-filled, 175-year-old farmhouse in a picturesque valley surrounded by rolling farmland. Built in 1848, and renovated in 2020-2021. You will experience a cozy country retreat with all the luxuries of a renovated kitchen, pot-bellied woodstove for homey winter nights, propane grill and a fire pit for summer evenings enjoying the fresh air and starry skies. A few things to note about this unique home: -The upstairs is accessed by two stairwells. The main stairwell will lead you to all the rooms- bathroom, both bedrooms and office space/reading room. The second stairwell will lead you directly to the master bedroom. Please note that both stairwells are a bit steep, just be sure to use the railings on your way up and down! Both stairwells are equipped with child gates for our young guests' safety. -The doorway ceilings upstairs are a bit low, though we have marked them with signs, please be sure to duck when walking into the rooms! -As the home is nearing two centuries, you may find the floors are creaky and settled. No fear, just be cautious with little ones running through the house. -Please note, the upstairs King and Queen bedrooms both have window A/C units to help maintain a cool temp of the home during the summer. It is suggested to leave the doors to the bedrooms open during the day to help cool the lower level. -This home is in the country, please understand that nature is unpredictable and uncontrollable. There will be bugs and moths outside. When the farmhouse was built in 1848, the town of Gallatinville was a bustling stop on the Rhinebeck and Connecticut railroads with hotels, shops and a meeting hall. Today, the house sits across the street from the former Mill house and a short walk down the hill to the former train station. Gallatinville is a quiet enclave with a handful of houses surrounded by open farmland. The towns of the Hudson Valley and the Berkshires are only a short drive away for antiquing, shopping, and dining. There are hiking trails, and the Taghkanic State Park has a beach lakefront for swimming, boating, and water sports of all kinds. Self check-in with keypad on back porch door. Parking in the driveway, with a walkway around to the back entry. On the recently updated main level, you will find a large farm style dining room table with ample space. A sitting room with pot bellied wood stove for intimate evening ambiance. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils, pots, pans, silverware, and dishes. We even have coffee and tea stocked for your stay! You may notice in the pictures that there is a vintage refrigerator in the kitchen, there is an additional refrigerator with a freezer in the pantry. The pantry is available for use during your stay. Though there have been many updates throughout the house, the kitchen maintains a vintage style with modern touches. Accompanying the vintage refrigerator, is a large cast iron farmhouse sink and a vintage electric stove. You will find plenty of counter space with the butcher block island to prepare a holiday dinner or simply enjoy a bowl of cereal for breakfast. Located on the main floor is an additional full bath with a standup shower. There is also a washing machine and dryer for guest use located behind the closet doors in the bathroom. The house has three bedrooms on the second floor; the third bedroom is equipped with a dedicated work space #WFH. On the second floor you will also find a shared bathroom with stunning tile work and a clawfoot tub for soaking in the fresh air on this country getaway. The master bedroom is situated with a king sized bed and a private stairwell. This bedroom has a window A/C unit. The second bedroom is light and roomy with a queen sized bed also equipped with a window A/C unit. Each bedroom is accompanied by ample closet space and its own bureau for your belonging during your stay. There are neighbors on both sides of the property, but a short walk down the road will lead you to endless rolling hills and views for miles.
