The Charleston

Beautifully decorated. Great location and a kind and welcoming staff. The Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious.

It was great. The only thing that would have made it better is usb outlets.

Wonderful hotel. Very comfortable and clean. Staff were all lovely. Lots of little touches to make the stay special. Nice rooftop bar and a fabulous breakfast. Hotel was well located for going out and about around Galle Fort. We met a Gem shop owner who grew up in the Fort and was telling us that the original historical house had a lovely garden that he and his friends would sneak into and play cricket unbeknownst to the two elderly owners. The old house has been lovingly restored and the garden is now patios for some of the rooms. The hotel is itself now a Gem in the Galle Fort area.

Tea/coffee facilities in room would have been nice. That said they would happily bring to the room. We were also there during monsoon so had got in the habit of coming back to the room during the extreme heat/rain and enjoyed watching a bit of TV, so personally we would have liked a TV in the room. Again, I understand that this may not be the vibe of the hotel (there were games available upstairs) and that no TV can also be considered a plus.
