Legionnaires disease and untrustworthy host

I travel the world and this was without doubt my worst ever experience. Firstly the host required a deposit of €300, I sent this via PayPal, the host only received €285ish, they said I should have sent it as Friend and Family, not a business. But they are not my Friend or Family, they are business, so we are off to a bad start. Check in went smooth, apartment was okay, there was a towel in the bathroom that looked like it might have been used and left on hook, and the bedding was a tad damp, but I have travelled in India, Nepal, The Gambia, Sengal……, so I am not having the vapours over that. We went for a wander around town, and on return noticed on the door a poster size notification in French, which looked very official. I had a look, and said the buildings Water System had tested positive for Legionnaires disease and not to use the Hot Water or have a Shower. Contacted Booking.com, and they were useless. Contacted the host who said he would not have booked it out if he did not think it was safe and anyways he stopped there the last week. I Guess he left the towel ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . He then sent a screen shot of something that was undated and did not look official, in French, which Google translate said that the water was okay. To be honest after the PayPal fiasco and the official notice we decided this person could not be trusted. We had to sleep the night and left in the morning, after sleeping very poorly with the damp sheets and the worry. Left the apartment as found and returned the key, which was rather simple. At this date, the host has not returned the deposit and I am going to initiate a Credit Card Chargeback for the cost of the apartment.

Everything. It was clean. Housekeeper did a good job! Very good location. Straight on marina and shops/restaurants. Great communication with Host!

nice area, friendly and helpful locals but disgusting apartment owner.

the apartment was clean

the advert said that there were sofa beds but in reality they were sofas. I tried to open them up into beds but I found couldn't fflem them out. to get into the apartment, one has to pick the keys up from a different location where there is a locker box and one has to know the codes of the building to get into the building and then thete is another code to open the box.all this was NOT explained to me by the owner. Iwas simply told to pick up the keys from a certain location, Iexpected that there would be a person there to hand them over to me. the owner could have explained all this and given me the codes in an email before Iarrived there. luckily there happened to be some friendly french people hanging around who phoned the owner and spoke to him in french and got the codes for me. even they thought that the whole process was complicated. the attitude of the owner of the apartment was disgusting. he kept emailing to remind me to clean up take photos of the room after Ileft so he can see that it was tidy, although taking photos is no big deal, his attitude was not normal. I did clean up and put everything where I found them, the cups and plates where washed and Ieven swept the floor for him. Ifully expected that he would be happy with the situation. Igot an email saying that the place was dirty which was not true. he complained that I did not empty the rubbish bin, which in other places is the job of the cleaner. he took a photo of the washing machine which Iused once, there was a bit of watter on the inside of the lid of it. and then he vtook a photo of a few tiny smear on the plastic item that holds the plates would take seconds to wipe off with a cloth. He used this as an excuse to fine me 50 euros which I refuse to pay. the owner o the property knows little about customer service, perhaps has some OCD issues, is wierd and perhaps even a con mam. Avoid this property..

Le studio est très bien placé proche de tout. Très confortable, très bien équipé et très moderne. Le propriétaire est joignable sans problème et réactif, je reviendrai sans problème dans cet établissement.
