Host & Communication: The owner’s communication was fantastic throughout. They gave us plenty of space while being exceptionally kind—even letting us park our car on their drive.
First Impressions & Interior: Very presentable and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The inside of the hut has a modern yet cosy design, complete with books and puzzles for a relaxing evening (we brought extra board games, which I’d highly recommend!).
Amenities & Comfort: Thoughtfully equipped with a fridge, utensils for preparing meals, and roller blinds for complete privacy. Heaters, fans, a warm duvet, and extra blankets kept us comfortable despite the chilly morning weather. Everything worked brilliantly given that it was it's an standing structure (ie shower, toilet, sink, electrics etc)
Location: Excellent position close to brilliant walking spots and a very convenient corner shop nearby. The welcome pack offered great local recommendations that we thoroughly made use of.
Check-out: A later check-out time than usual was a wonderful bonus—it meant a peaceful, unhurried morning before heading off.
What could be improved:
Pre-Arrival & Access Info: Accessing the welcome pack required creating a Microsoft account, which was tricky given the spotty mobile signal in the area and we had already set off from home. It would be super helpful to send this link or a direct download a bit earlier (like the day prior to arrival or right after payment) so guests can save it while they still have strong service!
Location Expectations: We were a bit surprised to discover via the check-in video that the hut is set directly in the host's back garden. I had a look at some other reviews when I got back to see if it was just me but some others had also felt a bit misled by the images provided, as the listing photos gives the impression of a more secluded, woodland setting. Adding a photo showing the garden layout would give future guests a clearer picture of the setup before arriving.
Washing Facilities: Since there isn't a dedicated kitchenette sink or drying rack, washing up had to be done in the bathroom sink and dried on a towel over the table, which felt a bit inconvenient and awkward.
Hut Seals & Maintenance: A few small gaps around the structure allow the elements and insects to slip inside—a couple of large noticeable cobwebs (including one right over the bed) could also use a quick sweep before new arrivals. I'm glad it didn't rain!
Bathroom Privacy: The bathroom features a clear glass pane without a blind or privacy film, which felt a little exposed when sharing the space with a partner who could look in at any moment! XD

It's such a cute and cosy set up. Owner is very nice, mostly leaves you to your own devices, which I really appreciate. Also, the recommendations for places to eat at are spot on!! Especially the Italian place, food absolutely delicious. Everything you might need It's there. Beautiful bathroom, the toiletries smell amazing!! The area is absolutely stunning, I always wanted to come here, especially the puzzlewood and I was not disappointed!!!
The only downside is problem with reception (not downside to the lodge). It's all area really, so makes it awkward at the times to find your way as maps keeps disconnecting. That wouldn't stop me from coming here again though!
