Villa Marika is located in the charming village of Vizinada. From here you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Mirna valley, the hills of the Istrian hinterland and other small (stone) towns in the distance, such as Motovun. According to legend, Vizinada is an even 1000-year-old village where the Romans built the famous Via Flavia and today's Parenzana cycle path. Near the villa there are also tourist towns such as Porec or Novigrad (both about 16 km from the villa). Porec is known today for the impressive Euphrasian Basilica (part of the UNESCO heritage since 1997), from the Byzantine period. If you are traveling with children, you can take a trip to Aquapark Istralandia, which is about a 20-minute drive from the villa. You can also visit the charming nearby town of Novigrad. This pleasant small town was also known as a fishing village and still retains the typical atmosphere of a Mediterranean town. Here you can visit fortresses and old churches as well as numerous museums, bars and restaurants.
