Dear Safron House Team,
we honestly don’t even know where to begin thanking you for these fantastic four days.
The last time we stayed with you was 10 years ago, when we celebrated our wedding here. Now we came back to celebrate our 10th anniversary.
The world and Hiriketiya have changed completely over the years — but not Safron House.
The house, the ambiance, the atmosphere — everything is just as special as it was back then. In fact, it has become even more beautiful. The amazing breakfasts, with a different Sri Lankan specialty every day, were outstanding. And the dinners prepared just for us by Chris were without a doubt the best local food we have had anywhere in Sri Lanka.
The quality of the service has remained at the same exceptionally high level. Chris, now together with her daughters, still runs Safron House with so much warmth, joy, and passion.
We could honestly write pages about everything we loved during our stay. But to keep it short:
10 years ago it was wonderful — and unlike so many places in the world, it has not deteriorated by even a millimeter. Quite the opposite: it has become even more beautiful and even better.
A true oasis of peace and outstanding quality in the middle of what has now become a very lively Hiriketiya.
Anyone looking for tranquility, genuine hospitality, and top quality should absolutely book Safron House.
Thank you so much for these unforgettable days. We will definitely come back — and not in another 10 years, but as soon as possible.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, and the infinity pool was a real highlight. The location was perfect—close enough to easily walk everywhere. The family who runs the hotel were incredibly warm, friendly, and always happy to help. Their delicious local breakfasts each morning were a fantastic way to start the day. We would happily stay here again.
