The apartment was bright, spacious and very clean, with a modern interior that still felt quite new. The location is convenient for exploring Piombino, with free parking available nearby. Check-in itself was easy and worked perfectly via the key box and the automatic instructions sent by WhatsApp. But ...
... unfortunately, communication with the host was almost non-existent apart from automated messages. Several questions via both Booking and WhatsApp remained unanswered, despite the welcome message stating that the host was available for any questions.
The apartment also felt quite poorly equipped for a place advertised with a full kitchen: Especially in Italy you would expect (and wish for) at least two wine glasses and two coffee cups! Basic kitchen items such as dishcloths and towels were missing, with only an old sponge provided. There is a washing machine, but no obvious way to hang or dry the laundry. Our questions remained unanswered.
The lack of communication became particularly inconvenient at check-out: we were asked to dispose of and separate the rubbish, but there were no instructions about where to take it (such as a welcome paper or book), and our questions were again not answered. Questions about drying laundry and where to leave the key also remained unanswered before.
Finally, the beds could be more comfortable, especially the pillows, which were very hard and thin.
Overall, the apartment has a lot of potential due to its location, cleanliness and spaciousness, but better communication and some basic additions to the equipment would make a significant difference. As it is, we would mainly recommend it for shorter stays without plans to cook or do laundry.
