Beyond Skywalk Nangshi

This location is incredible. Wow! Our room was the Family Deluxe room (2 king beds and 2 bunked beds). We had a gorgeous view of the sea on the South side of the room and a semi obstructed but still lovely view of the main rock formations to the East. The room was very spacious and in an excellent location within walking minutes of the restaurants, Skywalk, and pool. This may have been the most beautiful swimming pool I'd ever seen! Also, the Horizons restaurant served one of the best meals I'd ever had--the Australian beef with fried rice was amazing. Staff were very kind although they did not always reply to my messages through Booking.com. They have a laminated sheet of island hopping options and will contact a taxi service to bring you to the pier...a 5 minute drive down the road from the hotel. We chose to do a 9AM private longtail boat trip to James Bond island where we walked the island and explored some of the caves. The timing was perfect...most of the bigger tour boats started arriving around 10:30, and we were SO glad to have taken the morning boat for a little privacy to enjoy the island before the crowds. After we got back to the hotel around 12:00, we took the taxi service for a trip about 20 minutes away to Mantra Forest spa and spent 5 hours there (which was still enough time!). I cannot recommend this experience enough...it is not only "Instagram perfect", but it was incredible and relaxing! Wear a black swimsuit to go into the turmeric herbal pools, and maybe try to go early for opening hours before many people visit some of the specialty pools. Between the hotel, the view, the amazing food, the whipped gelato from the cafe, James Bond island tour, the trip to the day spa, and the sunrise to the East, this was a fantastic stay!

I have two small recommended areas for improvement: I wish that the staff would have been slightly more communicative using the Booking.com messaging system. But it is a small thing. And secondly, I wish that the shower and toilet doors were frosted/opaque. The hotel room was so spacious and bathroom was so spacious, but it was difficult for multiple people to use the bathroom facilities at the same time. Although the bathroom area had its own own door, the toilet had its own door and the shower had its own door, the doors were clear glass. So, even though the bathroom was huge, really only one person could use the bathroom area at a time if they wanted any privacy. On another note--we were very happy with the views from our room. However, I am not sure that I would have been happy in any of the tent or tower style rooms...it looked like almost all of them would have had majorly obstructed views by the concrete legs of the SkyWalk. Additionally, those rooms had cute outdoor bathtubs/showers, but everyone who walked on the Skywalk could easily look down and see into all of the bathtubs of the rooms below. So, I would recommend caution and realistic expectations if booking one of those rooms.

Food choices are limited. Food quality can be also better.

Everything was perfect! The pool was really surprising, small but perfect and works well with the view.

We didn't use the gym as it wasn't so inviting, looked a bit unused one. I would freshen up the gym.

The views are excellent
