The cottage I stayed in was perfect for my stay in Shropshire as part of a charity walking challenge. I needed a base to refresh and recharge and my cottage was clean, very cosy and comfortable. The setting was stunning and it was lovely and quiet, with all the amenities I needed. My only regret is not spending enough time here, I’d love to come back and stay again.
The wifi network could be written on the back of the router, as I had some trouble locating the network. Alex was fab though and made sure I was connected.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Nest - Wren cottage. The cottage is small but beautifully appointed. We loved everything- from the old age feeling, to the stove and to jacuzzi (of which I made use several times during our stay). The place is not difficult to find, even if the GPS only gets you part way. The area is splendid and you are only about 15-20 min walk from the village/hamlet of Picklescott. The village is small, but quaint and the pub is great - good atmosphere and food, especially after a long walk. We have attempted a circular walk starting and ending at the pub, got lost part way through (missed a left turn) but still managed to get 10 km under out belts. The area is beautiful, lots of birds, sheep and cows to look out for. Plenty of mud for old and young alike to splash into, too. It sits quite close to Shrewsbury - about 20-25 min by car, and only 15 min by car to Church Stratton. This means that both the shopper and the walker were satisfied. The host, Alex, was amazing. We didn't had a parking space when we arrived due to a confusion on the part of the other guests, but he offered us parking in the main area of the place. He also was very helpful and kind throughout our stay.
It's not something that I didn't like, it's more of an awareness for travelers and guests - bring your own soap/shower gel and shampoo, the cottage does not offer it )or at least we didn't had any). If you didn't bring any with you, fear not, Shrewsbury is close by and you can buy lovely handmade soap there :).

Beautifully furnished, perfect for a couple and in a lovely part of the world.
It was fine as the adjoining property was unoccupied when we stayed, but had there been people there, we would have felt rather on top of each other/too close for comfort. It definitely wouldn't have felt like a hideaway!
