Th property was amazing. Could t have been happier. It was central for heading out all over Connemara. There was everything we needed and more. It was so cosy, one of the nicest beds I’ve ever slept in. Lovely fresh local bread and taytos waiting on arrival. We do not have enough nice words to say about Jocelyn out host. She was so kind and helpful even before we arrived. Felt just like running into an old friend. And we had the added bonus of Rona the dog. What a beauty. She helped us get over missing our own pups. If I was ever down this way again I would definitely book the chalet if it was available. It was just perfect. Thank you so much to you Jocelyn and your lovely dog, daughter and partner. Planning the selfies with the chickens on our next visit already.
If you want to stay in Connemara you simply could not do better than Sweet haven Chalet.

The check-in was seamless and the property was located close to Oughterard, which was a convenient base for exploring Connaught/Connemara.
The place could’ve have used a deeper cleaning and the sliding door to the main bedroom’s bathroom was off the track and thus unable to be closed. This made it quite uncomfortable, in a sense, and my senior mother tweaked her shoulder while simply trying to close the bathroom door for some privacy. Some of the bedding and the furniture would benefit from a more intensive cleaning. The lighting in the bathrooms could be improved. Lastly, an instruction manual on how to use the oven’s various settings would be appreciated by future guests, I imagine.
