夕食、朝食、とても美味しくて、旅行での滞在ではなかったのですが記憶に残る宿泊となりました！

The food was spectacular. The gracious host was able to accommodate our unexpectedly late arrival. Peaceful location a short distance from the Takatsue Ski Resort.
The rooms were quite small, but no more so than many other more traditional Japanese lodgings.

Location was fine; out in the countryside. The building itself was pleasant and parking was not an issue. The host could speak English so that was a bonus for us.
We arrived with bento meals but there is no microwave available; no fridge either to keep perishables or cool the beer. Not difficult to have a communal fridge and microwave in the hallway. No chair in the room either so if you want to spend the evening in your room (std double) you have to sit on the side of your bed. No kettle, even a communal one to make a hot drink. The host kindly left a hot water flask at reception for us in the evening upon our request, so that we could make a cup of tea. Also, we didn't realise no towels were provided in the ensuite or the communal bathroom. Luckily, we got our own towels. We checked the booking again, it did mention towels (extra fees). This is actually quite unusual as all the places we went to provide towels. We would have thought that would be an essential service.
There is a restaurant onsite. Maybe guests are expected to eat here instead of bringing bento, hence no fridge or microwave. This may suit some travellers.
