Location excellent, the staff friendly, the room large clean and attractive, the bed large and comfortable. Attractively furnished and the pub is in a great location, just next door to a pizza express and a few yards from the Minster and the Saturday Market. Yes as it was a Saturday night there was live music from the pub, but it was good music, not loud, and the customers were not noisy.
Needed a sturdier toilet seat, a second chair, a small desk to work at. The ensuite is accessed by 2 steep and narrow steps, and the rooms themselves are accessed by a steep staircase. It’s a very old building, even ancient, and these structural things can’t be remedied, but if you’re elderly, it’s a bit inconvenient.

The room was very large and spacious. It has an old world charm and the beds are very comfortable. The staff were very polite and helpful and prompt. Facilities were good with coffee making facilities and an excellent rainfall shower.
The bathroom floor had a bump in it so the door kept sticking which was very noisy and inconvenient especially at night. There were a few hairs found on the shelf in the bathroom and the desk which indicated sloppy cleaning in some areas. There should have been a warning at check in (in my opinion) about not having the windows open, as the pub delivery happened at 6am outside the room window.

We stayed on a Monday and Tuesday night so it was a good quiet, central location.
For the cost we didn't have anything to complain about.

Convenient central to the town.
A lot was missing g from the room for better comfort. Only one smallish towel. No where to hang clothes not even a hanger!! No bedside light and the main light was right in far corner. Door lock difficult to use and not very strong. Staff were very nice and helpful.
