Loud and hot and unethical, good location

The property is walking distance from tourist attractions like the Louvre.

We were there during the heatwave. People who are sensitive to heat and noise should note that the hotel’s fans are insufficient in summer. In order to stay cooler at night, we had to open the windows. Since the hotel is located in a busy, central area - this means we were exposed to loud noise at all hours of the night — people yelling, partying, police sirens etc — and did not have good sleep. We had to wear ear plugs. In addition, the staff do not clean the rooms daily and when we asked for more clean sheets, the staff walked into the apartment while we were sleeping—a breach of privacy (and woke us up). Since we rely on reviews to arrange our travels, we were surprised to not have found more negative or balanced reviews about this hotel. We just learned our friends who had another room while we were there also submitted a review and were contacted by the Casanova hotel, requesting they take down their review and in return be compensated €80…. This prompted us to leave a review. It’s important for potential customers to be aware of the tradeoffs of a hotel before booking—and the different experiences of different customers. We find it unethical for Casanova to contact people who had an unpleasant stay and attempt to bribe them to take down unflattering reviews, as this does not give a full picture to other potential customers.

Terrible sleep, good location

The location. Cute balcony. Shower was nice. Staff were quick to respond via WhatsApp

There is no aircon and the ceiling fan was so DIRTY that black dust fell off it. Unbearable to sleep at night I had to open the windows which meant I heard ALL the noise. Terrible sleep the whole time. The door entrances are incredibly old and hard to open. The elevator is also very slow and it feels like it might stop working any time. No staff in location.

Even without a heatwave, this ROOM was very unpleasant.

The location was very good, close to the Louvre gardens, Place Vendome, excellent reasonably priced restaurants.

Apartment 53 was NOT an apartment! It was a small room with a bed on each side under the eaves on the 5th floor reached by 2 flights of stairs as the elevator stopped at the 4th floor. As it is in the roof of the building and there was a heat wave it was unbearable. There was a small fan in the ceiling at each end. The room was narrow with a bed and window at each end and a small bathroom and kitchen sink and hotplate between (no space to prepare food) and one could stand upright in only one line across its width. One had to crawl under the slanting ceiling to get into bed. Between the 2 beds (eaves) were a small bathroom and a cupboard with a sink and hotplate--no space to prepare food.

Excelente ubicacion,muy centrico,a 5’ caminando de Opera.Paradas del bus y del metro muy cerca.Buen ambiente cercano con tiendas,bares,supermercados.Excelente panaderia enfrente. Nuestro apartamento era de 2 habitaciones,totalmente equipado con todo lo necesario para poder cocinar.Baño amplio y bien equipado con jabones y toallas.2 ventiladores de techo y 2 de pie enchufables que te hacian airear el ambiente del apartamento. Atencion cercana por parte del apartamento preguntando a mitad de semana si necesitabamos algo,lo cual es de agradecer.
