The Paisa hostel in Laureles is a rather small, calm and friendly hostel in Medellín. The area is very safe and feels more residential than the touristic Poblado. The staff were all super kind and they all quickly became friends. I extended my stay because I liked the hostel and the city so much.
The laundry was 25k COP, perhaps a bit expensive.

It's still a beautiful property.
I've stayed there many times, under the old ownership. The results of new owners, for me, did not compare. Staff was less attentive, Orlando is missed, two staffers spoke English, compared to everyone, before and cutting the cleaning lady was noticeable.

Safe neighbourhood, overall a pretty and neat place/property
Staff was not super friendly and also most of them did not speak english which simply is impractical.
There are by far not enough bathroom (to the best of my knowledge only 1 real bathroom and 1 additional toilet, but I may have overseen/misunderstood something).
It was not super clean, and partly smelly, someone puked into the 1 upstairs bathroom really terribly and the bathroom was full of vomit for way too long.
Perhaps I just had badluck.
