So quiet in this street, very peaceful. Beds are deliciously comfortable and very large. Bathroom is lovely with a huge shower and a small bath. Kitchen facilities downstairs and in room. Washer/dryers available. Location is amazing. Beautiful places all around, many cute little eateries, shops, bars, and a street of wonderment nearby. Station is easily walked to. No problem at all. It's really perfect if you're looking for a peaceful rather than eventful stay.
Check-in process is impersonal but functional. Towels are thin and small. Lighting is auto -sensored so going to the bathroom at night wakes room-mates up. No microwave in room. The worst thing and possibly a reason not to stay is that the beautiful big sliding exterior doors are latched on a non-removable child lock so only open 5 inches. The beautiful fresh breezes and view over the cemetery is disappointingly lost. There is a notice 'forbidden to open windows' Surely this doesn't have to be the case. Should be able to be overridden. Makes the room feel like a prison cell and that you're paying for a location you can't see.

I loved the location, and the space itself. If you are traveling with your family or honestly even if it’s just a couple… it’s a nice place to come back to that is not overly stimulating. It’s also in a location that maybe would not have discovered on your own. It was perfect.
There really was not anything I didn’t like.

An amazing place in every way. Huge rooms. The best of Japanese tradition *and* premier contemporary design. Exceptional service. Easy walking distance to markets and all the Yanaka Ginza shops. Wouldn’t think of booking a different place in this area.
The bath towels could be a little larger and thicker.

It was conveniently located close to Nippori and Sendagi stations. Yanaka is a beautiful quiet little area, we loved it. The beds were comfortable and room was spacious for Tokyo standards although not much bench or storage area.
It felt was extremely cold (lack of a welcoming atmosphere). No staff on site plus lots of strict rules was unpleasant. The dark interior and lighting also made it feel a little eerie at night. We stayed 3 nights on the top floor but every single night there were loud knocking or banging kind of sounds that vibrates the floor and wakes us up.
It is also in the middle of one of the largest cemeteries in Tokyo. Though beautiful during the day, if you don’t like to be in and amongst tombstones, this is not the place to be.
I would not book again due to the darkness, loud noises at night and spooky feeling at night.
