Nestled in Gordonsville, this lovely house for $800 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Sotherly Manor is a beautiful 1870 house located in the historic town of Gordonsville, VA est. c1813. If you love American history, antiques, and art in a historic setting, this will be a memorable place to stay and enjoy a unique experience. From its high ceilings and hardwood floors, to its original architectural details, grand entrance hall, and pub room, you will have lots of spaces to enjoy and explore. 4 spacious guest bedrooms offer comfortable accommodation and are all located on the second floor. Rooms include a master king bedroom that has a en-suite bathroom and a canopy king bedroom, a queen bedroom, and a twin bedroom that share the main upstairs full bathroom. There are two main reception rooms (living room and drawing room) for your comfort and leisure along with a formal, well appointed dinning room. The kitchen is well supplied with most modern kitchen needs, with a breakfast room next door that has a nice view of the gardens. The private library is the perfect room to enjoy a good book in a comfortable wing back chair. The tv room has a large, widescreen tv for entertainment and located across the hall is the study / Captain's room with a desk for remote work. A favorite room of ours is the pub room, which is a surprise to everyone and many peoples' favorite gathering spot. The front columned porch is an enjoyable place for a morning coffee or watch the sun rise on the back brick terrace. Seasonally you can enjoy the private swimming pool open from mid-May to the end of September, walk around the lovely back garden, or relax on the brick patio. Private parking is provided on site. From the front door, you can walk out of the front gates and enjoy a 3 minute stroll to Downtown Gordonsville. This small town offers a variety of boutique shops, bakeries, restaurants, a museum, coffee shops, and a visitor center without the need to drive anywhere. This house is ideally located near many wineries, such as Keswick Winery and Barboursville Vineyards; Castle Hill Cider and Patch Brewing Co.; historic Presidents' homes, such as Jefferson's Monticello, Madison's Montpelier, and Monroe's Highland (all open to the public for tours). The University of Virginia in the town of Charlottesville is 30 minutes away on route 231, which is a designated scenic byway through the famous Keswick Hunt country. The Shenandoah National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway along the beautiful blue ridge mountains are also a short drive away with incredible panoramic views.
