About this cabin rental
Located in West Pennington, this attractive cabin for $543 per night is a great option for your next trip. The Rippling Creek Haven has been a popular cabin rental since the late 1990's. The cabin has 2 bedrooms on the main floor, each with a queen bed. The main floor also has the kitchen, dining area, full bathroom with laundry, and new living room with a gas log fireplace. The second floor includes a bedroom with a king size bed, a small loft overlooking the fireplace with a futon sleeper and a bathroom with shower. The loft has 2 additional queen beds. This cabin has a wall AC unit in the loft and one in the living room, satellite TV and internet access. The deck has outdoor seating and a table as well as a gas grill and a private hot tub. The hot tub is available 9 months of the year; the hot tub is CLOSED January, February, March, and April. A gas fire pit with seating has been added to the back yard, near the hot tub. Located 4 miles west of Hill City, Rippling Creek Haven offers direct access to the Mickelson Trail, a hiking/biking and horseback riding trail. There is a catch & release wet weather stream on the property and it is near numerous mountain lakes for catch & keep fishing. Centrally located in the Black Hills, this cabin offers a quick fifteen to twenty minute trip to all the major Black Hills attractions including Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Custer State Park , Needles Highway and many more tourist favorites. We had a good time….the house was perfect for our get together. There was enough plates and glasses for our crew and there was kitchen appliances like a crockpot. Big table for game playing. The hot tub was wonderful: clean and had good temperature. Lovely for a winter evening! I would rent it again!

Cabin was in a great location, very well maintained, on a beautiful property. Loved the hot tub, nightly visits from the horses, and plenty of indoor and outdoor space. There are other cabins close by, but it didn’t feel crowded or a lack of privacy. Would highly recommend!!

Great cabin in convenient location. Close to a variety of areas and activities. Kids loved the hot tub and we had everything we needed. The ranch it is located on had a variety of activities and the kids loved visiting all of the animals. Trail rides left right from the property.

House was perfect size for our family. It was clean, modern, and in a great location for peace and quiet yet close to many activities in both directions. The only downside was difficulty with WiFi connections on all devices but this was known to be potential problem. Hot tub and fire pit nice amenities. Overall, great vacation!

It was a great house for 7-8 of us women from Nebraska to get away to, cook& eat together, play games, watch Nebraska football, use the hot tub and visit Hill City wineries and downtown shops. Would definitely recommend it!

Location was perfect for us. Cabin was about 30 minutes or less from everything we wanted to do. Property was clean and welcoming, and had everything we needed. We appreciated the extra cleaning procedures for COVID. Thank you!

Property was very clean and easy to find. Adequate parking ensured all the family had space to park. Positioned Right on the Mickelson trail and just minutes from sxs trails made all of our activities convenient.

Recently stayed at Rippling Creek Haven with 4 adults and 2 young children (and there would have been plenty of room for more!). It was a great experience - beautiful location and close to many things to do in the Black Hills. Hot tub was great to sit in in the evening and the propane fireplace was nice. Lots of space in the kitchen. Instructions for everything was clear. Would stay here again.

The cabin looks way smaller on the outside than it is! it is very spacious, was comfortable for all 10 of us to spread out. Loved that the table was big enough for us all to sit at and eat a meal or play games. The amount of cooking utensils and bowls and pans and such was great compared to several other places we stayed. Was disappointed the hot tub appeared to not be working when we arrived as it was cold but the property manager sent someone over and it was warm the next day for us, which was one of the reasons we booked. Water pressure from showers was great. Overall it was a great stay and would stay here again!

The cabin was better than expected. More than enough room for the 5 of us, the hot tub was amazing and the beds were super comfortable! It was charming and homey. Very easy to find! Internet is very spotty but you’re at a cabin, go enjoy yourself!

The property is located in a community setting. A ranch is also located on the property - so it was convenient to go horseback riding and visit the ranch.
The property was well maintained and very comfortable for our family. The only request I would like to property owners to consider is to purchase a larger tv. But - on the other hand we were very busy every day site seeing - the property was convenient to many destinations.

We took a family trip to the Black Hills and loved our vacation! This VRBO is located in a great central area for a short drive to many attractions including Mt. Rushmore and Custer State Park. We would have loved to have stayed longer. So much to do, and not near enough time to fit it all in! Great place to stay!

Would recommend staying at the cabin to anyone. Cabin was a perfect location to visit MT Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and numerous other activities. We were 10 minutes from Hill City which has many shops, grocery store, and restaurants.

The cabin was perfect for our family of 9. The grandkids, ages 3, 4, and 6 had a blast with the upstairs loft space. The cabin had great spaces on the main level too. We were able to relax in the living room by the fireplace and the kitchen area with the large table accommodated us well. A bonus was seeing a couple dozen horses run by the cabin. We all enjoyed that. We loved the cabin and had a wonderful time there. Our property manager was very friendly and helpful which made reserving and checking in and out an easy process. Thanks for the amazing stay!

Had a great time over a long weekend. Location is excellent for day trips to various sites. The space was exactly what we needed - lots of room for the kids to have their own place. It was incredibly hot while we were there but we stayed cool enough at night with the window AC units and leaning the bedroom doors open to keep air circulating. Would stay again next time we are looking to visit the area. Easy checkin and checkout process.

We had a great time at the cabin, there were 6 adults and 3 kids plenty of room for all. It was clean and well stocked. The location to all the fun places to go was very convenient. The only 2 negatives were the wifi is not good and the Direct TV did not work either. We would stay again.

Very spacious house with great amenities. Only 5 minute's drive to Hill City town. Property manager was responsive to questions and issues and sent someone out when an issue had to be resolved. Nice area on a road with similar houses and spacious yards. Walking distance to a ranch to sign up for trail rides. The only thing that was an issue for our group, which the listing clearly says, is that the internet service is very limited. It's a dial up line and speed test showed around 300K (not Meg). We were able to do some emails and light internet searches. We have Verizon Wireless and service is very spotty to non-existent. We drove to Hill City and sat in the library parking lot for zoom calls and heavier internet service.

We were happy with our stay, cabin was nice. We loved the peacefulness of the location and the horses in the back yard. Access to an outdoor grill was a bonus. The location to activities is perfect. Wifi was terrible, if you need it for work purposes while away this is not the place for you. Tv service was also not great, Kathleen made attempts immediately to fix that but it still was not great. Hot tub was a must when I booked and we definitely got use out of it, could have been cleaner though. Overall we were happy with our stay.

Home was fine. Did not have central air, only 2 window air conditioners. Several outlets upstairs did not work. Property Manager was always available and helped where she could.
