Location and facilities and that the minor things were there...dish washer tables, tea, coffee, sugar milk (nice little touches)
There are some minor repairs needed which let the property down, but did not affect our stay. Damage to the door and door frame (bedroom to the left as you walk into flat 2). Damage tiles in shower (bedroom to the right as you walk into flat 2) and a 'drains' smell from the same toilet (we left the extractor fan on all the time which made a difference). You have to slam/pull really hard to shut the front door

It was clean and well furnished and perfect for a couples break
The front door doesn't look like a front door! They tell you to go into the glass door on the left but it does look like a window! And the WiFi didn't work and the owner didnt reply to my question on this while we where there

The location is great for public transport to the city centre.
The property management team was quick to respond to my messages.
The bedroom was comfortable and size of accommodation is good.
Sadly, this accommodation did not live up to the expectations we had from the photos and positive reviews. And despite paying more than the cost of a decent hotel in the city centre, it felt like we were in student or contractor digs, not cosy accommodation. The property is dated and, in my opinion, needs a lot of work.
When we arrived, glasses in the cupboards had not been cleaned, red wine residue still in glasses.
The drawers for pans, cooking equipment and cutlery were dirty, and clearly had not been cleaned for a long time. The hand towel in the bathroom was not clean, and the radiator, floor, and skirting boards were covered in dust along with the shower head rail half off the wall. The surfaces in the lounge kitchen area where the sofa, lamp and TV are had a visible layer of dust, and the TV remote did not work. There was no tea towel, tea, coffee etc or the comforts you would find in a basic hospitality package in most hotel and bnb's, no information packs.
The contact on the management team did offer to send someone to rectify the issues. But we were alreasy installed in the flat and our stay was only 2 nights, plus there were too many issues to deal with to make this accommodation a good standard. However, we were offered complimentary late check out, but only after 3 times of asking the question about late check out and complaining about the standard of cleanliness.
I hate complaining, and I feel for the people on the other end of the messages, whether owner or management company, however, when a cleaning or maintenance team let a property down this much, it is needed. I was advised by the contact that the photo evidence I supplied was not the usual standard of cleaning, but I am sorry to say that I feel this may be a misguided statement from them and they need to start making spot checks to ensure a better standard is achieved and maintained.
