Extremely Misrepresented Villa – Please Read Before Booking
The staff member who helped us enter the villa was lovely and kind.
I have waited for almost two weeks before posting this review to give the owner the benefit of the doubt, in hopes they would respond to the requests sent by the Booking.com team. Unfortunately, they have failed to respond to Booking.com and have not made contact with me either, even though I have made attempts to contact them.
Our experience with Villa White Eden Canggu was extremely disappointing, and I strongly advise future guests to look past this property until they fix and represent the current state of the villa correctly. It is heavily misrepresented online, and the conditions were unacceptable.
Upon arrival, we discovered multiple issues:
Misleading photos: The courtyard, bedrooms, lounge area, and bathrooms are not an accurate representation of the current state. The reality of the villa is a decayed and unkept version of what is advertised.
Cleanliness problems: There was a significant amount of decay, mould, dirt, and stains throughout the villa — even the cups on the kitchen shelf were dirty and stained inside.
Structural deterioration: Cracks and general wear throughout the property that were not disclosed in the listing.
Construction and lack of privacy: Active construction was occurring next door, and because it was directly above the property, it vibrated loudly through the lounge/kitchen area. The workers could also see directly into the courtyard. This was never mentioned to us prior to arrival, even though we booked months in advance.
Because of these issues, we left the property immediately and booked alternative accommodation at our own cost. I could only add four images, but that isn’t even half of the ones I have.
Booking.com have been trying to resolve the issue. However, because the villa has refused to respond and provide a refund, we have not been able to recover the full amount paid. Booking.com was only able to offer a small portion as compensation.
