The pod was situated in a beautiful quiet spot which is perfect for exploring the area. It was around 15 minutes from Newquay and 20 mins to Lampeter centre. There were other beaches near by which were easily accessible by road.
The pod was modern looking inside and the hot tub was the cleanest that I have ever personally been in. The owner Claire was lovely, warm, very welcoming and she had left us a lovely fresh baked loaf of bread, some locally produced cheese and butter to enjoy with the bread she made.
The pod had a twin electric hob, Microwave, plates utensils, glasses and cups. There was little bottle of milk too to make a brew.
Great place to bring your dog owners are very welcoming of this.
I don’t like doing this bit to be honest especially when the owner was so welcoming but I have to be honest.
The pod we received was the smallest one on the site, we did bring our little dog who had her bed too and we had a fair bit of luggage. Don’t get me wrong the bed was an ottoman style one so we could store underneath but even so we felt cramped and found ourselves envious of the others who had the larger pods.
We became aware of little midget flies inside which were a bit of nuisance as they would fly down to us and I had some little lumps on my skin after the first night and some more on the day we were leaving so I have a feeling I may have been a snack during the night.
The pod did smell damp and had slight aroma to it, we were thinking perhaps it was the rug at the front near the door but we could smell it throughout the pod. We became aware the shower/toilet cubicle had a little aroma too like a urine kind of smell after using the shower. I do wonder if guest have had a tinkle whilst in the shower and it’s left its mark on the drainage perhaps.
Cleanliness was ok, there were a few webs in the tops where the vents were, they appeared semi blocked and lots of insects that had been trapped by spider webbing.
Me and my fiancée would come back to this venue but wouldn’t accept the small pod. We did have a nosey at the larger pod after someone had vacated and from what we could see it exceeded the one we were in. On our trip to Lampeter back in July we spent the same money and had a large pod which was amazing and similar to the larger pods at this venue.
Final note. If you like your technology then this may not be the place for you. I had zero signal on my phone until I drove about a half mile up the road. This was a pain to set up navigation on CarPlay so you could get about. The WiFi in the pod wasn’t great, on the first night we tried to watch a movie which was 2 hours long.
