Nice place but a bit in shambles. Our shower didn’t work (staff were quick to react). There was a broken window in the toilet. A whole floor seems to be under renovation or construction.

The location is absolutely beautiful — the hotel is surrounded by fields and nature, making it incredibly peaceful and relaxing. The property itself is very nicely designed and the pool is truly stunning. The setting is definitely the highlight of the hotel. I also appreciated that the concierge apologized afterwards for not being there when I checked out early.

Unfortunately, there were several issues during my stay. During the night, I woke up to find small insects crawling all over me, including in my hair and in the bed. I understand that insects are to some extent unavoidable when staying in the middle of nature, and the hotel does mention this in the room. However, I feel there is a clear difference between occasionally seeing insects and finding them actually crawling in your bed and hair while you are trying to sleep. I also had an early-morning safari pick-up and had arranged with the concierge the evening before that I would be checking out early and leaving my luggage at the hotel. When I went downstairs, however, nobody was there despite calling and ringing several times. I eventually reached someone by phone who told me to simply leave my luggage there, which I found very uncomfortable. The most disappointing part happened afterwards. I checked out at around 12:00 pm, and later realized that I had accidentally left an entire laundry bag containing clean underwear in my room. (The hotel did find the bag, but instead of contacting me, they assumed it was rubbish and threw the contents away. Since I had only checked out at noon, I would have expected the cleaning staff to discover the bag while cleaning the room and simply ask me whether it had been left behind intentionally. What made the situation even more uncomfortable was that I was later sent a photo showing the empty laundry bag. This means that someone had removed my underwear from the bag before it was discarded, which I found quite uncomfortable and honestly rather strange. I understand that it may have been an honest mistake, but personal belongings — especially something as private as underwear — should not simply be disposed of without at least trying to contact the guest first. The hotel did offer to send the bag to me in the next city, which I appreciate, but by that point I preferred not to have any further involvement.
