What a place and a great host, will be returning next year for a long weekend.
Nothing it was perfect

This historic chateau, parts of which date from the 13th century, was tastefully and professionally renovated and decorated. We had a fantastic time there. The two hosts, Kristoff and Ivan were great hosts, and have done an amazing job in creating this incredible venue.
Nothing we can identify.

Impressive building with particularly magnificent stone spiral staircase. Large bedroom and bathroom. Some interesting vernacular furniture in the bedroom. Extremely comfortable hotel quality queen sized bed. Dinner and breakfast table settings were in keeping with expectations, lovely china, lighting etc. Liked the offer of pre-dinner drinks as a group of guests and the familial seating on one large table.
The room lacked mirrors large enough or sensible located to use when dressing etc. A cheval mirror in the bathroom was needed. The bedside lighting was operated from an electronic unit by the door we discovered in the morning. This was not mentioned on our arrival by our host. The room had obviously once had a central lustre but only a bare wire remained. A room at this price should not have this type of decorative and practical omission. Felt disappointed by the dinner fare. Food was adequate but not of the standard expected for the location and price. Hosting felt detached and lacked both information and invitation for guest feedback. Very disappointed by breakfast service and (non-existent) hosting. Buffet style service but range of fare and presentation was uninspiring we felt. The availability of hosting was also disapointing. There was no reference to or introduction to the self service beverage arrangement located well away from the buffet foodstuffs. We were left in limbo until another guest arrived and enlightened us about how to obtain a hot drink. The machine offered a range of coffee options but no preferred chocolate drink as far as we could make out. The lack of a friendly greeting and any interaction with us as guests initiated by a host whilst at the breakfast table felt unpleasant. We were interested in the history of the chateau and its development as a table d'hote and we initiated a brief conversation with a host who had appeared. This was quickly terminated by him deciding that he needed to immediately return a missed telephone call. By this stage we really just wanted to leave as quickly as possible. The room rate was already paid for so we asked to pay for the dinner and drinks. We paid in cash but were not given a breakdown or a receipt. We felt that the 150 euro bill was excessive but decided not to query it but to put the whole stay down to an unfortunate choice that we would not repeat on our future travels through the area.

Kristoff and Ivan are excellent hosts. The chateau is simply magnificent and beautifully furnished and decorated The blend between the old and the new is perfect.
Absolutely terrific. Thank you.
