Staying in an historic manor is always a thrill for me. Walking across a courtyard, past a fountain and up a spiral staircase to our room off a "tower" is just my idea of a romantic adventure! The host was very kind and understanding, as we had experienced some scheduling trouble that day and were running late. He met us and showed us to our room and then served us a lovely breakfast on the terrace the following morning. He was also helpful with regard to my genealogical search and was knowledgeable about the area. Before we left, we explored Cetan and found that the church is absolutely lovely, and that there are beautiful gardens and scenery nearby.
I should have done better research about how to reach the town. We ended-up driving down a long, narrow road to Cetan in the dark, when there is a much better road if we had taken a different route. Just mentioning it so that people who are driving will be aware that there are options.

De mooie ruime kamer met keukenblokje (met koelkast!) en de moderne badkamer waren erg prettig na een weekje kamperen. Heerlijk eclectisch ingericht, overal oude spulletjes, super knus. Ook het ontbijt was heel lekker, opgediend op een ouderwets servies. De eigenaar was super vriendelijke en sprak Engels, wat voor ons heel fijn was. Onze oldtimer kon op eigen terrein geparkeerd worden, wat erg prettig is.
