The Spanish end of the beach - head towards the right, walk down to Spanish town. It's much more authentic and reasonably priced down there. Try the little tourist train, use the local Dia supermarket and get the app for good discounts, the ready to go 1 euro hot dogs were my favorite beach lunch.
Do your research and it's well worth it because not everything is easy to stumble across. There is a big market in the Spanish section on a Tuesday. there is a great boat trip that leaves for the beach, very reasonable , we picked the trip where you can jump off for a swim. We also visited the communal pool right near the house that is 3 euros for the day and was very big and the kids had lots of fun in the splash zone.The menus of the day everywhere are great 4 courses over looking the sea for 14.90 euros!Find the thermal baths hotel it has a beautiful secret garden where you can get coffee and toast for 3.90 euros until 12 noon. We also visited the local traveling circus, it was great really traditional like going back in time :) 9 euros each my 5 year old loved it. Bring buggies for little ones to get the most out of exploring the area the length of the beach is huge and great to walk along, all flat and beautifully paved. We also stumbled across a celebration next to the beach- National sardine day, worth looking up because we got free beers and sardines!! Great place very relaxing, not feeling of Brit's on tour, very nice and Spanish!!!
The newer British end is worth a look but very predictable - fake hand bags and overpriced restaurants.
If you have smaller children the pool might be a bit much for your nerves as it does have a straight drop into it, our 5 year old was ok because we were always with her or the door was locked and she can understand not to walk over a straight edge :) toddlers however are another story. But the teens loved the different tiered balcony spaces- so you cant have everything.

Location was good, good communication before and during stay.
Property felt tired and in need of updating. Fridge and hoover both had black tape on to hold them together. Outside shower broken and pool was freezing. Plant pots out side either full of weeds or plastic flowers which were broken.
No covers on the duvet which is highly unusual and unhygienic.
