Welcome to High Peak Retreat!
High Peak Retreat is an upscale log cabin with stunning long-range mountain views, strategically located just a half-mile off the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is only 5 miles from downtown Blowing Rock, 6 miles from Appalachian Ski Mountain, and 8 miles from Boone, offering the perfect balance of tranquility and accessibility.
Within minutes of this conveniently located vacation home, you'll find shopping, restaurants, horseback riding, gem mining, sightseeing, and various family-friendly activities such as snow skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, snow tubing, and sledding. Hiking, walking, and riding trails are abundant, with notable trails like the Mountains to Sea Trail located within a mile or two of the cabin. Numerous lakes and rivers are also nearby, allowing you to enjoy a serene setting within an established mountain community, central to Blowing Rock, Boone, and all the High Country has to offer.
You will find direct entry from the paved parking area to the main-level covered patio door, providing easy one-step access. The main level boasts an open-concept living area featuring a stacked-stone gas log fireplace, leather furniture, and a big-screen TV. Large windows illuminate the wood-paneled living space with breathtaking mountain views. The kitchen features stainless appliances, granite countertops, a stainless basin sink, and a large center island for convenient meal prep. Adjacent to the kitchen, a dining table seats eight, with four additional seats at the island. Outside, the deck offers a spectacular view and includes a gas grill, a gas fire table, and outdoor dining tables.
This unique cabin includes three main-level bedrooms. The master suite features a king bed, a TV, deck access, and a full ensuite bathroom. The queen bedroom also has deck access, a TV, and a full hallway bathroom with a tiled tub-and-shower combo. The bunk room, filled with fun games, includes a TV and an ensuite bathroom with custom tile and a stone step-in shower. It has two twin-over-double bunks, which can accommodate up to six guests. The cabin has three full bathrooms and one half-bath.
On the lower level, you'll find a game room equipped with a pool table and a Pac-Man arcade game. A leather Restoration Hardware sofa here converts into a comfortable queen bed. From the lower level, you can also access the patio with a luxury hot tub, where guests can enjoy sunny days, starry nights, and breathtaking mountain views.
High Peak Retreat has central heating and air conditioning on the main level, plus mini-splits on the lower level for year-round comfort. High-speed WiFi internet is available, and all TVs come with paid programming apps. The owner has furnished and outfitted this beautiful mountain cabin with exceptional quality and care.

The approach to High Peak Retreat features all paved roads, and a paved driveway leads directly to the house. For electric vehicles, this is one of the few homes in the area with an available EV charger. Winter guests should be prepared for inclement weather by using 4WD or AWD vehicles; in deep snow or icy conditions, chains may be required to navigate the mountains. High Peak Retreat is pet-friendly for two dogs under 35 pounds, with additional pet fees. If you plan to bring a pet, please coordinate with us in advance.
Important Note: High Peak Retreat is situated in a peaceful, private neighborhood and is not suitable for parties or loud gatherings. Please be mindful and respectful of the full-time residents in this community. No loud noise is allowed outside after 10 p.m.

Not a better place I have stayed!!

High Peak is a great property, perfect for 10 people. Unfortunately, Helene added a wrinkle to our visit to App St for Parents weekend, but the fact that we had power (generator) and comfortable lodging made it much easier on the group. The lodge is clean, accomodating and not far from Boone or Blowing Rock. The kitchen is well stocked and perfect if you bring your own food. We planned to eat at High Peak for 2 nights because of the expected crowds in Boone for the game and parents weekend. The game was canceled and the Hurricane closed the town down on Friday and Saturday. THe Master bedroom is very comfortable with an on-suite bathroom, the Guest bedroom has a queen bed with the bathroom across the hall. The bunk room has its own bathroom and sleeps 4-6. The basement can hold at least 2 people comfortably, there is a powder room in the basement. Unfortunately, we didn't get to enjoy the outside decks or the views due to rain and fog, but it was definitely a nice and enjoyable stay considering the circumstances.
I do want to mention leading up to Sep 27 the cabin property management company was very responsive to my questions, however after we arrived I called them 4 time and never got a response, which I understand considering the weather conditions.
