The stone cottage is located in one of the yards Kendal is well known for. It is off the streets so was very quiet. The kitchen was large enough to easily cook, and a nice table and chairs to eat meals. Upstairs a nice size bedroom and bathroom.The cottage is close to everything, very close to walk up to Kendal Castle and the train station. The remote control shades were very handy. Loved the wooden beams and architecture of the cottage. I appreciated the host's quick responses and willingness for an earlier check-in time.
The kitchen was clean with the exception of the stovetop and the hood which could use a good cleaning. A minor thing but the wi-fi was a bit sluggish upstairs. Not a big deal.

Newly installed bathroom & kitchen; spacious living area; very responsive and pleasant host; nice linens; generous towels; 1 block walk to supermarket.
Place, especially bathroom is not suitable for anyone with any sort of mobility problems - steep narrow stairs up to bedroom & bathroom; very high bath with handheld shower only (no shower curtain, and towels can really only be hung on the heated towel rail by getting back into the bathtub).

Positives - location, parking ( difficult as we have a large car but manageable)
Bath - ridiculous, impossible to shower. Very high sides. No mop available to dry the floor.
Toilet seat loose
Sink taps so loose almost off the sink
Bed uncomfortable.
Not suitable for older people.
We are on a road trip around Britain and this is our 4th stop and unfortunately the least impressive.
