We had a fantastic weekend at Cheetah Chalet and would definitely stay here again. The unit was clean, comfortable and well equipped for our family. The kids also really enjoyed the stay.
The location and setting are probably the biggest highlights. We had great views and saw rhino, warthog, blue wildebeest and zebra coming surprisingly close to the chalet. It felt private and peaceful while also being very well situated for exploring Dinokeng.
The hot tub was great — fresh water was put in when we arrived and two wheelbarrows of firewood were supplied. We braaied every evening and really enjoyed the outdoor area. A small light above the braai would be a nice addition, but certainly wasn't a major issue.
Families with very small children should just be mindful of the stairs and electric fence, as you naturally would in a bush setting.
Overall, an excellent stay and a great place for a Dinokeng weekend. 10/10 from us. We would happily return and recommend Cheetah Chalet.

Driving there was rather painful to my small car. They should fix the road honestly it wasn’t a pleasant drive at all.I wish the owners warned me about the mosquitoes and advised me accordingly as a new guest. They could have fumigated the room changed the curtains because those mosquitoes were literally harvesting behind the curtains, under the bed behind the closet it felt as though we were intruders not visitors. My poor son woke up with a swollen face and when I asked for help/advise, the manger suggested using the old fan in the room. Which was on the whole night facing our bed but it didn’t help at all. Preparing the room for us by cleaning it properly might have helped. Those curtains need to be washed, also the windows, the sliding door and get rid of those mosquito nets they make things worse. Just clean the rooms with extra care. Apart from that it is a peaceful place and we might have enjoyed our stay if it weren’t the horrible night experience. We cut our trip short and the manger was kind enough to refund us for the extra nights we had paid for. That I did appreciate.
