The setting, comfort and cleanliness of the resort was excellent, clearly a lot of thought and detail had gone into the design and layout. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were beautiful and spacious, loved being able to walk out of the room straight onto the beach and hear the waves at night. The AC was very good, important because it was very hot! The excursions/activities available were good (a little on the expensive side) - the scuba diving and snorkeling trip was amazing!

The restaurant ran out of most spirits and at one point had no cokes, by the end of our stay they were down to just beer and ciders, for a 5 star resort this was not good at all, particularly as it is not difficult to keep stock of drinks given their long shelf life. The service in the restaurant, particularly in the evening when it was busier was very slow. We would generally sit down for dinner at 7pm for a two course meal we were rarely finished by 9pm, often later. We took cards to dinner to keep ourselves entertained but the slow service was often frustrating. Once at the resort it is very expensive to get water taxis to other parts of the island, water taxis charge by the person so a for a family of 5 it would cost approx £150 one way to get to the other end of the island. It meant exploring Tioman was quite limited when based at The Boathouse

We loved the location! What a beautiful spot. The rooms were so comfortable, and had everything you needed. The staff were fantastic, as was the food.

They had no spirts and a very limited wine. For a hotel of this level, charging what they do, I was surprised they had run out of all liquor. This is poor planning from management and let the hotel down massively as we love to have cocktails on holiday. I appreciate it’s a remote location - but there was no alternative provided. They should perhaps offer to take guests to the next village free of charge to buy what they would like to drink. Or let them know ahead of arrival so they can come with supplies!

Over The Boathouse valt niets op te merken. Eén klein minpuntje is dat wanneer je van plan bent om andere dorpjes op het eiland te verkennen je steeds de boot moet nemen. Vanuit deze locatie kan je je niet eenvoudig verplaatsen over het land.
