not a lot very disappointed
First, I would like to say that it was very confusing to understand who was managing this property. We booked through Booking.com, then received emails from Melissa at Irish Stay Collection, and had direct dealings with the property owners, who live above the apartment.
We found there was a lack of storage in the bedrooms. Only two of the bedrooms had wardrobes. We raised this with the owner, who advised that it had never been an issue before. There were also no hooks in the bathrooms for hanging towels and nowhere suitable to hang wet coats.
There was no tea towels provided on arrival. We were supplied with two after we mentioned this to the owner.
The property does not have a freezer for guests' exclusive use. Instead, there is a shared freezer in a room off the kitchen that is also used by the owners. This room can be locked from the apartment side, but we were disappointed to find that facilities were shared when we had rented the entire apartment.
There was also a lack of crockery, with only the minimum amount provided for four people, despite the apartment sleeping six. Similarly, there were only four dining chairs available.
The kitchen equipment was also inadequate for the number of guests the property accommodates. There was no frying pan, only a sauté pan and three saucepans, none of which were large enough to cook a proper meal for four people, let alone six.
The washing machine was not working, and we were not informed of this before our arrival. When we asked about it, the owner advised that we could use their washing machine instead. Again, this was not ideal, as it involved sharing facilities with the owners.
We also experienced problems with the heating. Guests were unable to control the central heating themselves, as it could not be switched on and off as required. The owner kindly programmed the radiators to come on for us, which we appreciated, but we felt that guests should be able to control the heating during their stay.
